BATH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) _ Two-time defending champion Scott Hebert has shot a course-record 7-under-par 65 to take a one-shot lead at the Michigan PGA Professional Championship.

The pro from Grand Traverse Resort overcame a 2-over opening-round of 74 to go five under after Tuesday's Round 2 at Hawk Hollow Golf Course.

First-round leader Mick DeKorver of Grand Rapids' Sunnybrook Country Club shot 73 Tuesday and trailed by one shot at 140. The first two rounds were played at Hawk Hollow Golf Course in Clinton County's Bath Township, about 75 miles west-northwest of Detroit.

The top 72 finishers from the 161-player field finish play Wednesday on the nearby Eagle Eye course. They're competing for $62,000 and a winner's share of $7,000.
